The Beckwith Trust was set up under the will of the late Constance Elizabeth Beckwith. The Trust is for the benefit of persons resident in, or who are, or have been, educated in the parishes of Easingwold and Husthwaite. There are nine clauses of possible ways of applying but they are all basically educational, and beneficiaries have to prove the “need”.
Easingwold School is allocated a small fund each year to be used at the School’s discretion. Where students wish to apply for a smaller sum of money – for example, up to £250 towards a school education trip/exchange – this can be done internally.
Families wishing to apply for a smaller sum should write to the head teacher requesting Beckwith Trust funding to assist with making payments for the educational trip/exchange in question, outlining details of the event, with dates and costs, and indicating their reasons/need for making the request. It is then at the School’s discretion as to whether a sum is to be allocated to the student in question, and how much that sum should be.
Where the sum required is larger the family should apply directly to the Beckwith Fund. They need to contact the clerk for the appropriate application form.
