Friends of Easingwold School (FOES)
Welcome to your PTA!
FOES was formed in 1981. It is an organisation of parents, staff and friends of the school whose primary role is to form closer links between home and school.
FOES are best known for their fundraising work, but they have an important social function too. Many of the fundraising events they organise provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together and build a strong school community.
The funds FOES raise go towards ‘extras’ that help to make learning more interesting and exciting. Ahead of each meeting Heads of Department are invited to send us requests for funding for specific items or projects. Some of FOES’ past contributions to school include a 3D printer for the Design & Technology Department; computers for the Creative Arts Department, as well as a subscription to Sibelius, a music composition and notation software; and a projector, whiteboard and laptop for the Language Department. FOES has made a number of contributions to Youthy over the years, most recently providing funds for the Breakfast Club. We have also provided lighting and a smoke machine for the Backstage Crew for use in drama productions.
All parents/carers of children at the school are automatically members of FOES. We hold an annual general meeting (AGM) at the start of every school year where we elect the committee to run the PTA. There is a chair, a treasurer, and a secretary, as well as ordinary committee members. We meet at least once a term and set up smaller working groups to organise individual events.
All parents are warmly invited to come along to these meetings. FOES are a really friendly group who are always keen to welcome new members, and hear new ideas.
Supporting your PTA
There are many ways you can support FOES whether you have lots of time to offer, or just a few minutes here and there. Some events we run require quite a lot of organisation, and we are always glad of offers of help for these, whereas others simply need you to turn up!
We use PTAsocial to connect our school community online, and keep everyone informed about our social and fundraising events. (You can watch this short video if you'd like to know more... http://www.ptasocial.com/why-join.)

So, click the button below to come on in, have a look around, and start inviting more people yourself!
Another really simple way you can support our fundraising effort can be done from the comfort of your own home! In 2015 FOES signed up with easyfundraising.co.uk - a scheme where major retailers donate a proportion of the profit they make from your online purchases to the school. You can find out more by clicking the button below:
It really is an easy way of raising vital funds for the school, and won't cost you a penny so please do check it out.
The next FOES meeting will be on Wednesday 3rd May 2017, at 6.30 pm, in the School Library. Everyone welcome!
